The Friends of Etowah Valley Game Preserve.
It is the middle of summer and my thoughts are pushed forward to the fall of the year with the crisp morning air and dew on the ground with the dogs pushing through the cover to point the early flight of birds. There is, to me, no better site than good working dogs, doing what they love and what they were born to do.
Alex, again this year, has been ahead of the rain and the cover crops were planted in time to get this beneficial rain that we are now having. The planted crops combined excellent mix of natural cover
provide for great hunting. The Game Preserve business is a 12 month a year job and if you get sloppy it shows.
Your favorite fields are again offered this year: North and South Dakota, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Kansas, and Colorado. We are working on Woodland hunt but are not sure whether it will be completed for this season because of weather and time.
This year, for the ninth time, we are offering the popular Preferred Hunter Program for the 2012-2013 hunting season. All though the preferred Hunter program was designed around those hunters that have their own dogs the program can be modified for those hunters that require a Guide with their dogs.
The program cost is up slightly this year which only reflects the additional costs of feed, driven by the price of corn this year. The cost of the Preferred Hunter Program for 2012-2013 is $825.00 + $57.75 (tax) = $882.75. That gives you six hunts for the price of five hunts with a saving of $165.00 and you also get a preference to time
and field.
The registration deadline for the Preferred Hunter Program is September 30, 2012 and we are limiting the Program to 30 Hunters.
